3M™ Cubitron™ II 982C is very suitable for edge beveling, chamfer grinding, weld removal on carbon steel, metalwork, workpiece irregularities and defects, groove machining and more. The patented Cubitron™ II products have raised the bar for high performance abrasives. 3M™ engineers began work with 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grains and used 3M™ Precision Shaped Grain technology to create triangular-shaped grains that are electrostatically oriented on the pad to produce sharp peaks and maximize grinding potential. These tips act as separate cutting tools that cut into the metal and are continuously ground as the tips are broken off. The abrasive grains grind evenly and spontaneously, which reduces the temperature caused by friction and, together with the lower grinding pressure, guarantees up to twice as long a service life as other grinding wheels. As a result, Cubitron™ II discs perform and last longer than other discs with conventional ceramic abrasives available on the market.
